Fifth Force Lab Simulator — Chameleon Screening
Interactive fifth-force lab simulator based on the chameleon scalar-tensor framework. Models environmental screening, asymmetric gradient propulsion, and torsion balance experimental geometry.
Chameleon Fifth Force
The chameleon mechanism (Khoury & Weltman 2004, extended by the LTOE framework) produces a density-dependent scalar fifth force. Force range λ = 1/m_eff where m_eff² = V′′(φ_min) + ρf′′/M_pl². In laboratory density environments (ρ ~ 1 g/cm³): λ < 1 mm (force undetectable by Solar System tests). In cosmic void (ρ ~ 10⁶ ρ_bar): λ > Mpc (cosmological coupling active).
Lab Geometry Simulator
The simulator models asymmetric plate geometry with A = 3 factor. Key variables: plate separation L, plate area, vacuum pressure, asymmetry factor A. At 10⁸ Torr vacuum, the screening length exceeds 5 cm and the predicted force F_prop = 0.74–0.95 N (x_m = 0.026) is within torsion balance detection range (δF/F ~ 10⁵).
